Chapter presentation

I think the ipad/ipod is really an emerging technology in the classroom. I hear about classrooms using these devices and students really responding and more participation is being involved while using these devices for the classroom. Students like to use new and exciting technology and the ipads have some many educational apps that can help them and be fun at the same time. I would use it in my classroom by having stations and each station have different apps they work on, that way if one of them have a problem then a person in the other group can help them.

Chapter 11

Audiovisual technologies are good to use in the classroom. One traditional device used for visual technology that we use in the classroom is an overhead projector. The overhead projector could be used to show some notes that the teacher had written, and also a chart or diagram for the whole class to see without wasting paper. One emerging device used for visual technology is clip art. In power points when just having notes sometimes can get boring so putting some clip art on a slide can make things more interesting.  For audio technologies there are many different kinds. One traditional device used for audio is the tape recorder. The tape recorder would be a good use in the classroom for the students that have a hard time hearing things. Also if the student couldn't read very well they could listen to a book on tape. One emerging device used for audio is an MP3 player, or an ipod. These devices are smaller and more portable then the tape player, and also tapes aren't being made like they used to be. It is easier to download something on the internet and put it on an MP3. The students could use the ipods for listening to a speech, or use a ipod touch and use some of the apps for learning.

Chapter 6 response

I think it would be better to teach in a class with more digital technologies because the students could learn so much as well as yourself. Using a touch screen with a computer monitor could be a very helpful way for students to get hands on with their learning. Also it could help students with disabilities that couldnt move their hands very well to maneuver a mouse. Electronic whiteboards are very popular in the classroom today also because it helps teaching more fun, and the students cab be hands on with it. Also if a teacher is lecturing and wants the class to make sure they are understanding she could pass out clickers and the students could give her instant feedback with them.
